On 5 September 2008, a press conference and rally was held across from St. Joseph’s Neighborhood

Center in downtown Rochester.

Dr. Leon Zoghlin, PNHP Finger Lakes Chapter Chair and St. Joseph’s Clinic volunteer spoke, along with

Donna Smith, who was featured in Michael Moore’s documentary film “SICKO.”

A visual backdrop for the event was a hearse, representing the estimated 22,000 Americans who died last

year due to lack of health insurance.  The Raging Grannies also appeared.

News coverage of the event was aired on local Rochester RNEWS.
